pipe thread

All,
Need a cosmetic thread for a pipe thread......male thread.
Any tips on how to create it?
I tried to do a revolved cut with a taper then put a cosmetic on that....Creo crashes

Yes, I do have an excellent idea for what you are trying to do. What I do is
create a datum curve in the model that represents the ID of the thread.
Model the pipe thread's OD as a solid feature. Don't forget to change the
properties for the curves to a hidden line. I also like to change the color
to a shade of gray. Make sure that your curves are in the correct view
orientation. It is more work than one should have to do. Hopefully someone
else will come up with a better idea.
