How to create re-usable choice fields

I would like to create a re-usable choice field. When working on multiple projects, is there a way to implement a choice field into each of the trackers I am working in without having to individually create each option every time?

I understand that I could do this by creating a tracker that has my options in it, but then I would lose some of the functionality of say... the Type field where Folder and Information Types display differently from the rest. Is there an out of the box solution for this?

In Jama, there are Pick-Lists which can be referenced anywhere throughout the project and re-used as needed. I am looking for something similar to this feature

Shared fields allow you to do various cross-tracker operations, but they do not provide a way to use the same option list in multiple trackers.   If you wanted to add/remove an option, you would have to do that separately in each tracker that uses that shared field.

Hi,

You could use the Shared fields function to create fields that can be used in any Project.
