I am using Mathcad Release 15.0 and Datecodeunknown
I am opening this on behalf of Schaefer. I work with Cforward their IT company and we have a user using Mathcad and saving issues...
"On multiple occasions, I have copied a MathCAD sheet into a new folder. I work in the new file, save, and then come back to work on it days later and it reverts back to the original form that was copied into the folder initially."
Any assistance with this would be appreciated.
Is that 'a new folder' on a server system? And is the file actually saved after modifications have been made? (Does the file have the new date and time for when it was resaved?)
Mathcad 15 does not store any change information in its file to allow it to undo changes made in a previous session. Any undo info is stored only in memory under control of the current session, to allow undoing actions of the current session.
So if a file does not show changes made in a preceding session (of opening the file, making changes and successfully saving the file under the same name) it wasn't successfully saved at the end of that session, or the file/server system undid the save if the file.
Have the user save his work in a file with a different name each time ( eg. by adding a date string as part of the file name) and see how that works.
Success!

The last thing suggested does work but is not convinent and is just a workaround we are using for now. “That being saving a new file every time a change is made to the original” Doing this also defeats the ability to have versioning setup as we do with backups of files.
Please let us know another solution.
The file has the new date and time, but once opened it shows the original file without the changes made previously.
