I've just re-read your question

Why would you want to open a text file from within Mathcad?

Mike

The file contains some test instructions to be saved in a database, Just trying to create an easy shortcut to the file for the users.

Mike

That did it, I added the file name in the text string and it opened.

My problem is now that I do not want the extra string delimiter included with the WRITEPRN command.

Neither do I want the: written by MatCAD title.

I just want the plain text.

I am considering a text box to provide the results, but I need to find how the specify the return carrier or end of paragraph.

In VB i normally use CHR(13) but in mathcad I still Have not found what to use.

Can you help there?

Can you provide the working sheet please. I'm away from all my reference material.

You need to use a scripted component to write the file. There are a couple of examples in the worksheet here: Extra Components.mcd

They might not do exactly what you want, but if you are familiar with VB you should have no problem modifying them slightly. If you do modify them in some generally useful way (i.e. something other people may also have a use for ) please post the new versions here.

Thank you so much this extra component file is a gold mine!

I appriciate the help!

Thought I maze well post Philip Oakleys worksheet.
