For anyone interested in a virtual printer that generates bmp, jpeg, or tiff files, check this out:

http://www.zan1011.com/

At $40 it's just at my threshold of pain, so if you know of an equivalent virtual printer that is closer to freeware, I'd love to hear about it.

Paul,

I just don't understand what it does.
If you don't have WinGrab, google for it,download,
brush the help index. I can't survive without Irfan
and WinGrab, both freeware. I have WinGrab installed
for over 5 years, no interference ... whatsoever.
Isn't true that the screen is a virtual printer.

From the zan1011 description, WnGrab will capture tha AutoCad portion, that you can save and e-mail.
Same with all the described tasks (zan 1011)

>>
CAD vector to raster conversion(AutoCAD dwg/dxf to image conversion).

Print report to TIFF file, then email as attachment or fax it.

Convert Web pages/HTML to JPEG.

Print the invoice to BMP image and email it to customer.

Convert Microsoft Excel spreadsheets/graphs, PowerPoint presentation to BMP files.

File format conversion software - convert PDF to TIFF, convert PDF to JPEG etc.

Print your email into image and send it so that everyone can read it.

Concatenate and combine all pages of multiple documents into one single TIFF file.

Save other printable documents to images for electronic document distribution.
Convert Microsoft Word doc to TIFF.
<<

For instance:

>>Convert Web pages/HTML to JPEG.<<

Capture, select, save as, e-mail
You don't need zan1011 for that.

Anyway, I'm lost with zan 1011.

Bonjour Jean,

Yes, I have WinGrab and it's great for screen captures. But paged documents formatted for 8.5 by 11 inch paper, like Mathcad pages, won't fit on a single screen.

What the Zan virtual printer does is this. You print a document of several pages but in the print dialog box you specify the Zan virtual printer instead of a physical printer. When you print, each page image automatically generates a bmp, jpeg, or tiff file, depending on the Zan virtual printer options.

It's just like pdfmailer, pdf995, and similar products that are virtual printers to pdf files. Since I have the freeware pdfmailer, I'd like to know if there's a freeware pdf to bmp, jpeg, or tiff converter.

Salut Paul,

Now, I understand !

A great capture tool was "Capture 2020"
Used to be priced $ 20 US. I have the complete trial version, banners can't be removed. It does a lot. It might do what you want, but long time I didn't visit. It used to be attacked by competition, maybe you must be careful to download in a machine that can be spoiled eventually. I have used mine few times only. At least "Google" for the last version.

Jean
