You can change letters to their greek equivelent by holding Ctrl and pressing g.

Type p then hold Ctrl and hit g.

Also attached is a list of shortcuts.

Iota (i) is used to represent an imaginary number.

example: x+iy

I knew I and j where used to represent imaginary numbers, but I didn't know i was called lota.

There you go - learn something new every day.

Just as with PI it is the likeliest letter in English followed immediately by the Ctrl-G combination - in this case i followed by Ctrl-G.

aaaaaaahhhhhhhhh.

It is the Greek equivalent.
