Matchad prime recovery
Hy!
I have a really important project deadline tomorrow and the program doesn't open my file..
I am using Mathcad Prime 1.0. Last time I used it, I properly saved the file and when I tryed to reopen it, it showed me an error: The file type is not supported. The file doesn't have any pictures in it. Please explain me how could I recover my data. It is really important for me.
I hope somebody can help me...
Thank you

Hello!
Please attach your Mathcad Prime file to the message. What calculations/components (Excel, pictures) contains this file?

Thank you for the quick answer.
Actually there are two files, which don't contain any pictures, excel tabels or anything imported from other programs. It contains only simple variable defenitions and text. What I did last time it was: I copied header and footer elements from an other matchad prime file.
I attached booth files, I hope you can help me.
Thank you very much!

Yes, Mathcad Prime 1.0 and Prime 2.0-beta show the same error "This file type is not supported", but at the same time, version Prime 2.0-beta creates a log file for that error (".log").

No attachments, embedded files or links, just function definitions and graphs to support a prestressed concrete analysis worksheet.

I can open your file in Prime 2.0, so the good news is that we no longer have this issue in Prime 2.0, which is releasing later this month.
I've asked a developer to recover the file for you, and I will post it as soon as it's ready. He said there's an issue in one of the programs.

I appreciate the help immensely, if fixing the file proves difficult to repair for Prime 1.0, I'd be happy to get a PDF print of the file from Mathcad Prime 2.0
I don't mind retyping, I just don't want to have to work out the coding again.

Jim,
I've been out for a few days, so just talked to the developer. He won't be able to get to it for about a week, since we are finishing up the final issues with Mathcad Prime 2.0. I am attaching the PDF file for you, since I can open the file in Mathcad Prime 2.0 without any problems.
I'll post the Mathcad Prime 1.0 file as soon as it's available. It looks like x is undefined on page 3, so most of the worksheet is not working. If you want me to define x as a value, and reprint it to PDF, let me know. I posted

Jim,
We have fixed your file so it can now be opened in Mathcad Prime 1.0. That problem has been fixed in Mathcad Prime 2.0, available at the end of the month. I still see some undefined variable issues.

Mona,
I am having a similar issue recieveing a "file type not supported" error when attempting to open the attached file. Can you help me out please? There are no embedded files in this.
A PDF of the file would be fine. I just need to see the contents of the file ASAP.

Gregory,
Attached is the Mathcad Prime 2.0 version of the file. Mathcad Prime 2.0 will be available in about a week. You will be able to download the trial version and work with the file, or upgrade to Mathcad Prime 2.0.
I'm also attaching a PDF of your file. I also couldn't open it in Mathcad Prime 1.0, but had no issues opening it with Mathcad Prime 2.0.
Best regards,
Mona

Hi Mona,
I am also having trouble opening files with the "filetype not supported" error.
I have several images (all .jpg files) in the worksheets, and I have copied and pasted the headers between them. The last thing I did before noticing that I could not open them was save the file as a different filename, then try to open the file with the original filename. All other files in the directory, with the exception of my template file which i made read only, had the "filetype not supported" error. I was also backing up my work using PDM works in Solidworks, however the files I reloaded out of PDM works also were unable to be opened.
I would greatly appreciate your help.
Regards,
Darren

Hi Darren,
Here are your files in both Mathcad Prime 2.0 format and PDFs. The good news is that we've fixed the problem that causes corrupted files in Mathcad Prime 1.0 and Prime 2.0 is due out by the end of the month.

Mona

Hi Matthias,
Your worksheet opens fine in Mathcad Prime 2.0. You can download the trial version if you want to continue working on it. I've attached a PDF and the Mathcad Prime 2.0 version.
Best regards,
Mona
