Does the server license have to be updated to use Prime 7.0? or the flexnet license already installed for Prime 4.0 will work?

Yes.  I had to request an new license file for Prime 7.  My Prime 6 license file would not work.  Since I have a current subscription, there was no additional cost (until I have to renew my subscription later this year).

Good Luck!

We have a corporate subscription, does the price goes up if we use a newer version of the software? let's say from prime 4 to prime 7.

For the answer to that question I think you will need to contact PTC's sales or licensing staff.  My guess is, that if you are upgrading from Prime 4 to Prime 7, you may not have a current subscription and would need to renew or start a new subscription.  If you do have a current subscription and have just not upgraded the software as newer versions became available, and now you want to upgrade to Prime 7, than probably not.  Since I had a current subscription there was not a price increase to upgrade from Prime 6 to Prime 7.  Hope this helps.

I can't find anyone talking about this anywhere. It seems like a pretty big deal though, assuming I'm not the only engineer out there who uses Mathcad 15 on a daily basis for my job. I know I'm certainly not the only person who dislikes Prime and would have been content to use Mathcad 15 indefinitely, however.

Hiya,

If you're referring to the End of Sale of previous Mathcad versions besides Prime 7, there's an official thread about it here: https://community.ptc.com/t5/PTC-Mathcad-Tips/Official-PTC-Mathcad-15-and-Prime-1-6-End-of-Sale-Announcement/m-p/715416#M131

We know at PTC we're also having a lot of conversations with our customers about it; both 1-on-1 conversations with individual customers, as well as at the events we've been (and will continue to be) holding.

I manage the Creo and PTC Mathcad YouTube channels for PTC, as well as all PTC Mathcad marketing in general.

Are you also having conversations with (never, ex) non-customers to determine what prevents them from purchasing Mathcad Prime?

It is instructive here to look at the suggestions posted and the comments in this forum to see how many suggestions and complaints have been addressed.  To a (clearly biased) observer (myself) PTC has and is failing miserably at improving Mathcad with regard to user comments and suggestions.
