Missing Functionality of Mathcad Prime 1.0

Missing Functionality of Mathcad Prime 1.0

As a result of buying a new notebook computer with Windows 7 I have upgraded from Mathcad 14 to Mathcad Prime 1.0. So far I have noticed that there is no spell-check or right button functionality. On top of that I have been unable to find how to solve an equation for a selected variable. In other words if the equation is of the form where x equals the mathematical relationship of several other variables, I cannot select one of the other variables and have Mathcad solve for it. There are other functions where I would simplify or expand an equation that I have not even tried yet. Am I missing something, or is it no longer possible to solve for variables?

Hello Joseph,

I am quite new to Mathcad, but maybe I can help you though.

Concerning...

- right mouse menu:

I think you are right. There is very limited use of right mouse button. All I do is to activate/deactivate some "regions" with right mouse - that's it.

- solving an equation:

You have to define a solve block (shortcut "Strg+1", or in the "math"menu, within "regions" click "solve block")

here are some posts concerning solve blocks:

Hope I could help you,

At this point Mathcad Prime cannot be considered to be an upgrade to Mathcad 14 (and I'm reserving judgment about the future). It has no symbolic math, no 3D plots, no components, no....

If you have Mathcad Prime then you also got a copy of Mathcad 15. If Prime does not do what you need, install and use MC15.

I agree with this.

If you want to see the majority of features not included in Prime and the moans we have all had, join the group below.

Probably the best topic to look at.

I want to thank everyone for their inputs. I have decided that I will have to install Mathcad version 15 on my new computer. I am very dependent upon the featues in the previous versions of Mathcad and cannot get by on the reduced functionality of Prime 1.0.

Joseph

Good idea.

It is very much expected that the new release of Mathcad Prime, version 2.0 will much closer to Mathcad 15 with additional features.
