Normal distribution or area under the curve

Is there anyway to integrate the normal or any distribution and show the limits of integration and color in the area under the curve?

Not very hard. Just load the following worksheet (in MC11) and read the directions on it.

Thanks for the sample file. But, I couldn't get just the -1..1 area under the curve to be colored while the before and after were uncolored. What I am trying to do is p-values and hypothesis testing with graphics and to change parameters on the fly to better illustrate the ideas to students.

Use show markers to define the area from -1 to 1 on the plot.

You could probably do as in the attacheed worksheet for normal distributions, and apply the idea for other types of distributions.

Thanks for the file and the know how, it is perfect.

All the Mathcad built-in distributions have their direct cumulative integrals. For the non built-in-in distributions, the technique follows the built-in technique.
