Pythagorean Identities
Hello All,
I have been working on an integration problem which I was stuck on in which I should have known the identity cos^2(x) = 1/2+cos(2x)/2.
I am wondering if there is a way maybe using mathcad's symbolics that I could have worked this out i.e. by Mathcad telling me sin^2(x) is an identity or to get Mathcad to list such identities?
Any thoughts?
Cheers,
Andy

I would not call it Pythagorean Identities.
Mathcads primary goal is to simplify expressions (sometimes admittedly in a strange way), so I guess it will be hard to get Mathcad tell you what cos^2(x)=..
But it works the other way round.
There is a crude way to get what you want:
