What kind of function or formula should be needed in ptc to invers 1 into 45° ?

As in normal math, "atan" represents the arc tangent function:

as I'm a real newby I hat atan(1)=0.785 but did not know I hat to place the ° sign behind.

Mathcad's default unit for angle is radians. You change units as you would any other expression by replacing the default with the unit of your choice. (Since radians have no "real" units none shows for default.) Mathcad allows "°" as a unit for degrees, I prefer "deg" but that's just personal preference.
