Education License Information

Hello I'm unable to find any form of 'contact us' area on the site in which I can email your customer support with a simple question. No telephone numbers and I cant log a call until I register... Then even after registering I am unable to log a call unless I 'upgrade' my account! Anyway we have license for Pro Desktop 8 for our school however we need to know what capacity of license we have. How many users etc Please could someone with access to the relavent information email me back as soon as possible. The software will be registered under the name of either: Ellesmere Port Specialist School of Performing Arts or Sutton High School

Craig, Many thanks for your enquiry and sincere apologies you had trouble finding a contact. Only trained and accredited teachers are entitled to use Pro|DESKTOP and during training teachers are normally made aware of several routes to get support. The first port of call is their trainer. In England our software for schools is licensed through the D&T Association who manage the network fo trainers. The full Pro|DESKTOP license (300 seats) is issued by the association when a teacher completes two days of accredited training. In addition to the support provided by their trainer, teachers submit a cases tudy to the programme web site at www.cadinschools.org which also has contact information. During training the teacher should also have been made aware of PTC and our web site where you ended up to leave this message. In summary, for your school to have a license for Pro|DESKTOP you should have an accredited D&T teacher on the staff. I have emailed The D&T Association with details of your enquiry asking them to confirm the status of your license. If you need to update your accreditaiton might I suggest you consider ugrading to Pro|ENGNEER which we are now offering to schools. Pro|ENGINEER has far better sketching tools, amazing photorealistic render and Warp tools which make organic shapes far easier than Pro|DESKTOP. There is also a network install option so administering Pro|ENGINEER on school networks is much more straightforward. Please send me your email address and I will do all I can to help resolve your license situation. Regards Tim Brotherhood - PTC Education Programme Manager -

Hello, I’ve been looking for PTC support for a new school where to teach ProENGINEER WF 5.0 (Creo Elements/pro ). Days ago I took the survey on “Get involved-PTC Schools Program” on http://www.ptc.com/appserver/mkt/educational/program.jsp?&icg_dbkey=851&im_dbkey=36184 to become a trainer and receive a free license of Creo Elements/pro (formerly ProENGINEER 5.0), after that I sent the submission files I receive a confirmation that they were successful approved and that I will receive the free Creo Elements/pro license.

As far I have no receive this free license. I appreciate if there is some one at PTC who can give me an answer about it. I want to open a new school in Mexico and I’ve been working in this line looking for financing , one of my priorities is to know how much support could I receive from PTC for this project.

Please provide me with more information to start this new school according to PTC school directives and have success on its opening.

The support PTC provides to schools around the world is free software, curriculum and support.

If you are successful in opening a new school, we would be delighted to support you in this way.

Good luck!

The student version of MathCAD 15 that I purchased through my grad school's Civil Engineering Department has been great to use. It's not just a nice-to-have, it's a downright necessity!

Hello Timithy Brotherhood

I hope this finds you still with PTC. I know this is a reply to an old post but it is to a somewhat similar situation.

I have been looking for information on how to upgrade the version of Pro-E I am using (Wildfire 4.0 School Edition). When I read your response below I noticed the avenues, that for me, have disappeared. For instance

The first port of call is their trainer.

This person has long since changed the email address he had and/or probably moved on or retired. The only other contact I had with Pro-E was to have my password reset. Can you direct me to information on upgrading and maybe a new contact for further information?

Our school is located in Richmond BC Canada

Thanks

Jim,

I am very sorry to hear you are not able to contact your trainer. The good news is PTC offers support to all trained teachers and can always be contacted through -

There is more good news because, all accredited teachers are given access to our Teachers' Portal where you can download our curriculum materials as well as the latest version of Creo Elements/Pro (formerly Pro|ENGINEER).

If you can send me the email address you have registered on www.ptc.com, together with details of your school and your role, I can make sure you have access to the Portal and send you a guide.

If you need the network install option for Creo Pro I can get you a product code for the license server.

Once this is all sorted you and your students will be able to use all the features in the Schools Edition of Creo Elements/Pro in school and at home.

Regards

Tim
