An electric guitar lends itself to parametric modelling.
This top-down model was developed to allow the scale length to be changed. The frets are then located mathematically.
With the help of Boxford, all the parts were CNC machined and laser to construct the finished guitar.

How does the guitar sound when played? Love to see and hear it. Was there a reason for the rescalable neck?
Guitarists have their own preferences for scale length neck width and profile. A top-down parametric model allows the design to be customised very easily. Once the Creo model has been customised, the components will need to be machined.
The quality of the finished instrument depends on many things including the quality of the materials, the precision of the machined parts, the care taken when assembling the guitar and how well the instrument is set up.
Mk1 one proved the concept and taught us a lot about what needed to be changed. The current design is Mk2 and was set up by an experienced guitar mechanic so plays much better.
Maybe I could call in with it next time I'm down in the London area?
