Hello,
Is anyone using a Samsung 49" Odyssey G9 monitor for Creo10 and beyond?
Pros & Cons?
All the best,
Hein

We ended up going with LG 38WR85QC-W 38 inch Curved UltraWide Monitors for use with RTX 5000 ADA GPU. These monitors are curved but 2300mm radius is fairly flat. Our users are loving it. I normally don't run Creo full width but I have seen some of my users do so.. One even kept a smaller flat screen so is using the ultrawide with smaller monitor to the right.
We got the new computers from Danny at Orbital. We have been buying from him for years. Great company.

Unless some type of signal processing is done in real time to render things as optically correct it would seem that a curved display would distort the display of geometry. I would find this irritating when working with CAD and possibly unbearable if I were using it all day every day.
I reached out to Samsung and here is what they claim:
"The 49" Odyssey OLED G9 (G95SC) is an excellent choice for 3D CAD work. The resolution is 5120 x 1440 resolution, providing you plenty of screen real estate for detailed CAD work and With a 240Hz refresh rate, it ensures smooth performance, even with complex 3D models."
Curved displays may introduce subtle geometric distortion, particularly noticeable when viewing architectural drawings or grid-based designs. This effect becomes more pronounced with steeper curvature ratios and larger screen sizes.
Having designed integrated displays as well as lenses and I can confirm from experience that a curved display will almost certainly distort your model geometry. Resolution and refresh rate are not typically an issue at all for Creo Parametric CAD work. FHD works fine, 4K resolution for Creo is useless unless you are using the render engine. I see no performance or productivity enhancement as a result of higher resolution or refresh rates, you are just spending more money. 60 Hz refresh at FHD resolution works just as well as 4K @240Hz. The lower resolution actually should result in better dynamic render performance as the GPU is making less calculations to render.
