Instead of "Read Only" select "Continue" in the conflict dialog. This will
allow you to save the released components to your local workspace and your
assembly. The "Continue" components will be marked modified, but can not
be uploaded nor checked out.
At a later time you can tickmark these components in your workspace and
then "Add to Workspace" without reusing to make them equal to the released
version from Commonspace.

[proecad] - How to save an assembly that has Read Only Sub Components.
I need some help in saving an assembly that contains released read only
sub components in Intralink 9.0 M030.
Today we upgraded from WF 3 M150 to WF 4 M150 (still Ilink 9 m030). When
saving an assembly I get the conflict dialog box that asks if I want to
check out several sub components. Those components are already released
and cannot be checked out so I choose to make them "Read Only". It then
says my assembly could not be saved. I then hit save again and this time
the conflict dialog box show that it will "skip" those sub components, I
hit ok but it again tells me that my assembly could not be saved. In WF 3
the second time hitting save would actually save the assembly, but WF 4 is
refusing to save it no matter what I do. The event manager error just says
"Save action was aborted."
The assembly that I am try to save, is at “concept” and is checked out. I
was saving this assembly just fine earlier today while using WF 3, now
since switching to WF 4 I cannot save.
What am I missing, what has changed, config option??
