Multi-Objective Design Study - Temporary Regen Backup

I am using Creo Parametric Release 8.0 and Datecode 8.0.7.0

Hi,
While running a Multi-Objective Design Study, we find that a regen backup of the model is stored in the working directory before being deleted.

We do not have "regen_backup_using_disk" set to "yes" in our config file, so this was surprising to see. Is it possible to turn off this feature of temporarily saving a backup?

The Study is 20+ hours and we're wondering if turning this off will reduce this time?

Thank you.

Maybe the following article / resolution helps: https://www.ptc.com/en/support/article/CS370625

Resolution:

  • The message means that Creo is storing a model internally, which cannot be found on the hard drive after regeneration
  • This backup will be deleted, so this message can be ignored
  • Make the features Read Only which will save the regeneration time

Hello Mr. Moseley,

are you working with Windchill, or is this a standalone session of Creo Parametric? If you are connected to Windchill, please backup the model to your Desktop, disconnect from Windchill, and see if the message is displayed again, in a standalone session.

Harald Hiller
