The message advises sending this to "technical support". Unfortunately, this is not Tech Support, but a forum for users. A traceback file is not something we can interpret or troubleshoot. Regrettably, we see a lot of these types of inquiries since PTC has steered people who go to the tech support pages over here.

Clearly PTC esupport UI/UX teams needs to improve the portal design as we still see users posting for issues that clearly should be going to support. You do not need AI integration to determine if a traceback or log file is included to default to opening a support case and not posting to the community. This is very low hanging fruit for UI/UX design!

I support the community and submitting questions but there should be a minimum bar set to submit a question to the community and when a user goes to open a support case the UI should not be duping them into posting to the community by default.

I have been a PTC customer for a long time, and I feel that I have to run through a gauntlet to open a case with support using the current website if I navigate through the UI.

I was offended to see the default diversion to the community from the support website when trying to open a case for the first time. It is clearly an attempt to reduce the number of calls logged and present a hurdle to doing so. As a maintenance paying customer this is a terrible impression to be left with.

It is no surprise that people not reading/comprehending the UI are diverted to posting to the community. That it appears to be deliberate is poor form indeed.

I agree on that PTC seems to be steering more and more here that are true technical calls and if a person doesn't realize it and just does as they are defaulted, it will go to the wrong place.

However with that being said.  The person is a "newbie" on this forum and sometimes these things are taken care of with an updated version of the software and that is usually what "tech support" asks first from their pre-canned list of questions.  Maybe this person hasn't gone through all the pain through the years of trying early adoption of this software and the problems that it causes sometimes.  I know that I got burned a couple of times early in my admin career by adopting early date codes of Pro/E, that I know now to wait for a few "versions" of a release to come out before even testing.  I know that over the years, this list has been invaluable to me and the knowledge/experience that I now have.  Also that testing is the key to any software implementation/update, especially earlier on in the date code.

Apologies to all here. Indeed, Traceback questions are impossible for the Community to chime in. Only PTC Tech Support can help with it. We are looking into why @SS_8516581 landed here, Thanks for your participation, feedback and understanding.

Hello.....  Have you tried to install the latest version of Creo 8 to see if it still is happening?  You seem to be on a very early release of Creo 8.  You are 6 releases behind.
