Hi everyone,
I’m facing an issue with a Thing-based DataChange event (Generic).
I have a Thing (Dataset) that contains a property and a DataChange event bound to it.
The event works perfectly fine with administrator user but now for other user which is not administrator and have rights on this project only.
However, when I test with another user account, the event does not trigger at all — even though:
I’ve already granted full Run Time permissions (Property Read/Write, Service Execute, Event Execute, Event Subscribe) to the user group.
I’ve also given Visibility permissions to the Thing.
Still, the event only works for the admin user.
Could anyone please confirm what exact permissions are required for a DataChange event to trigger correctly for non-admin users?
Thanks for your reply. Please elaborate your answer. This link has not enough information for the permissions of event of thing. Please read my question and let me know if you can provide further information.
Hi @MA8731174, please review the resolution, second steps, and grand addition permission, and test it on your end to see if it works in your use case.
My event is generic event of thing named DataChange so should i name DataChange instead of ForwardEvent as mentioned in the resolution steps (Workaround for scenario 2) ?
I have tested by implementing Workaround for Scenario 2 ForwardEvent. Its still not working.
Error Which is coming in console as below...
Hi @MA8731174 execute the following Services on the Thing to enable and restart it, and let us know your output.
I have executed it on the service which has this event but unfortunately same error in the console.log
This ticket has same issue. FYI @Surya_Tiwari

Hi @MA8731174
I saw that you opened a case for this and the engineer was able to recreate the issue you reported. A ticket is being opened with R&D. Once a solution is known, we'll post it here for others in the community.
Regards.
