ThingWorx failover concept

Hi,

How does ThingWorx failover concept work? Do we require 2 thingworx for performing the failover? Are there any document available for this which can be referred?

Thanks in advance,

Shalini V.

Even there is mention about other DB as well (MSSQL) - https://support.ptc.com/help/thingworx/platform/r9/en/#page/ThingWorx%2FHelp%2FThingWorxHighAvailability%2FMicrosoftSQLServerHighAvailability.html%23

ThingWorx 9.x HA active active can have MSSQL as persistence provider.

You can refer ThingWorx Hing Availability setup guide for this. Check the below help center link:

Do let me know in case of any question.

Hi @mgoel ,

Thanks for your swift response. We have two server in which there are two different version of ThingWorx (9.0 and 9.1). Does it support when there are two different versions?

Just to clear there are two HA architecture, the link which is shared above is for HA active-active (introduced from ThingWorx 9.0) in which you can have multiple ThingWorx nodes running in parallel. And this architecture have same DB (schema) for all the nodes, so that all the nodes are in sync( using distributed cache -ignite). So the answer is if you want to implement this architecture you should have same ThingWrox versions on all the nodes.

Hi @mnarang ,

The help url mainly focuses the postgre. But I have installed my ThingWorx with sql server. Can the same help link be referred for sql thingworx installation also?

Thanks in advance,
