What is the use of the Workflow subsystem? while connecting workflow subsystem giving this error message

Workflow subsystem is the part of ThingWorx Flow, which can be downloaded from support portal and installed on top of the ThingWorx Foundation.

It means have to download any extension and is it possible in trial version?
