According to article CS279763 it is not possible to email all users in Windchill Group or Windchill Organization in Windchill PDMLink. I really would love to do this to warn folks that there is an upcoming outage, or perhaps some other important news.
Has anyone here come up with a work around, or a clever method to send an email to their users in a specific group?
Windchill 11.0 M030 CPS08
we are using a different way to notify all Windchill users with a banner they can see on all pages.
Take a look at these discussions:
Another option / workaround is to create a report that lists all the users with their email addresses and other information. You can export that to an Excel Spreadsheet and manipulate it there.
I use this method to warn all users of upcoming server maintenance downtimes and other general announcements. Only downside is that it doesn't contain group membership information.
@Marco_Tosin That's a really good idea, but since we are a Cloud system, not certain it will work for us. We do, however have banners on our Test systems. Thanks!!
I was hoping that would not be the answer, but from what I've read and what I'm seeing here, I think it is.
Oh well, all I would have to do is export the list (I've already got the report generator), then create a Windchill Users group in my email. That shouldn't take....very...long....
