Group By This Field option in Workspace to group the objects by specific column

I am using Windchill PDMLink Release 12.0 and Datecode with CPS 12.0.2.13

In commonspace there is a possibility to use the option "Group By This Field" of most of existing columns.
This option is not available in Workspace either on server-site or local workspace (Workgroup Manager).
Is there a reason or restriction why this is not available?

for the reason , I think it is the technology used the folder view is JCA based n while the workspace  is a form porcessor

for me it is not clear if this is a technical restriction and can't be implemented?

I see also the existing Idea which was closed because of less votes.

Makes it sence to create a new Idea based on this topic with the hope that this function can be implemented?
