Updating from 9.1 M050 to 9.1 M060

I am in the middle of a WC test update from M050 to M060 and have encountered a problem. I have a call in to tech support but I was hoping that someone might have seen something similar in past experiences and might be able to shed some light.
The PSI update from M050 to M060 went fine, but I am having an issue with the update_tool script which is supposed to be run before bringing the system back online. It executed 16 of the 22 update tasks without any issue, but with 6 left, it throws an error saying that I need to use the username and password for the administrators group. The thing is, I am using the site admin credentials and it still won't work. It appears to be stopping on the LoadNewData - PersistPhaseUpgradeState. I tried other admin credentials but to no avail.
Anybody have any ideas about this one?

Thanks,
John

Hi,

Did you start Apache and Tomcat?

I just recently did this myself. Some of the possible problems that were "getting in the way" was the fact that WC was configured to run as a windows service and configured for HTTPS. Once I removed HTTPS and ran WC manually the script file completed with no errors. I cannot say this will solve your problem but it did for me two weeks ago.

John,
In addition to other suggestions, if you have siteminder or some other authentication, you might want to disable those and re-run the update script. I had a similar problem when I did this update and disabling siteminder resolved it for me.

Good luck.

I would agree with Steve,

If you cannot use this simple command in a windchill shell you have an issue with authentication. It's probably trying to load data into the system:
