On a drawing, is there a way to display the chamfer leader on any angle from the chamfer surface?
By default Creo (and ProE before) forces a chamfer leader line perpendicular to the chamfer surface, without regartd to if it fits amidst other dimensions. Much of the time our workaround is to convert the chamfer to a note using the dimension ID to maintain it as a driving dimension, but this is annoying.
Does anyone know of a setting that allows the user to control the leader line angle besides having to convert it to a note dimension?
Screenshot below. Top chamfer text cannot have a different angle than the 45º shown. Bottom chamfer note has been converted to a note in order to manipulate the leader line angle
Thanks!
In the drawing properties there is an option called "default_chamfer_text" try changing that.
Thanks for the suggestion. I just tried it and verified that it only controls the text display and does not affect the leader line at all. There is also a dwg option that controls this, and that also only affects the text.
Any other ideas?
Since it sounds like there is no way to control this I started an idea...so if you like it go ahead and vote for it:
