ECAD-MCAD Collaboration Extension advice

Hi,

My company is looking to buy the ECAD-MCAD Collaboration Extension to enable a better transfer of PCB designs from Allegro PCB Editor to Pro Engineer.

Does anyone know whether it is necessary to have View ECAD (formerly InterComm Expert) and View MCAD (formerly ProductView Validate) installed to be able to completely import/export the incremental IDX files from Pro/E?

Or is it just that these viewers allow the impact of proposed changes to the design to be visualised?

Many thanks,

Josh Tomlinson

you will not be able to preview, compare and accept/reject changes without these tools, but you WILL be able to import/export IDX
