Increase Sketch Dimension Text Height

How can I change the sketch dimension text height while in the sketcher to help my poor eyes?

I project the program on a screen during lecture and it is difficult to see the numbers moving about the room.

You'll be wanting to set the hidden config option

Text_height_factor

Set it to 50 and work from there.

To build on what Iain has said, I like ALL of my fonts to be slightly
larger. Here is a list of config options that I have documented for our
users if they would like to change the font type and sizes. The
TEXT_HEIGHT_FACTOR is the one that you want for sketcher. However, that
will also increase the font size inside your normal working windows,
too, not just the sketcher. The other options can be used to increase
the font size in the other menus.

1. MENU_FONT - If you would like to change the default font for
your menus, use the config option MENU_FONT. To set the value for the
option, enter the font name, style and size separated by commas. For
example: MENU_FONT Times, Bold, 24. It is not necessary to enter all
three values. If you would just enter Bold, Pro/E would keep the
standard font that it uses, but would make it bold. This option
requires a restart of Pro/E to take affect.

2. DEFAULT_FONT - To set the default font for the rest of the areas
that MENU_FONT misses, use DEFAULT_FONT. This will change the font of
the model tree, layer tree, message window, etc. Enter the same
information as the MENU_FONT config option. (See item #7) This option
requires a restart of Pro/E to take affect.

3. POPUPHELP_FONT - To set the default font for the pop-up help
menus, use that POPUPHELP_FONT config option. The font values would be
entered the same as with the MENU_FONT config option. (See item #7)
This option requires a restart of Pro/E to take affect.

4. TEXT_HEIGHT_FACTOR - To change the font height of the characters
inside the working window, use the config option TEXT_HEIGHT_FACTOR.
The default is around 60. A value of 40 would make the text height
quite a bit larger. This value can be tweaked to your own preferences.
This option requires a restart of Pro/E to take affect.

AWESOME!!!

Now I can see what I'm doing!

Scary!!

...and if you really want to mess with someone, set MENU_FONT to use the wingdings font in windows. Much hilarity will ensue... It might be best to save this for April First.

This is going to be great information for classroom projection. (heck - I needed this for my desktop, let alone lab projection)
Took me a bit to figure out how to change it (see attached).

Need to start new part for sketch specific changes and restart program for program interface specific changes.

On a related note: Why isn't Lock User Defined Dimensions the default, and do you guys set this as your default for sketch dimensions?

Take a look at the config.pro options:
sketcher_dimension_autolock
sketcher_lock_modified_dims

One of these days "someone" is going to come up with a plausible
explanation for "hidden config options"... Course, this is PTC, so
I'm not holding my breath... 😉

Thanks...

My guess is that those are for specific issues that are not ready for
prime time, or problematic only for a select configuration of hardware /
software / etc...

Folks -

This has been an issue with me for quite some time now: I have a part
that has been mirrored from the original part. The Original part has many
Copy geometry features at the beginning of the model tree and they are also
on a layer so I can shut them on and off upon preference, (which works like
it's supposed too). My situation is when the mirror part is created; all the
layers go with the mirror part. The layers are turned off, which does
work... but when I cruise my cursor over the model geometry while the layers
are turned off, all of the Copy geometry still highlights and creates a big
visual mess. All of the surfs (copy geom.) are on layers and they are turned
off but yet still highlight, everytime I cruise my cursor over the model.
This is very annoying to say the least. Does anybody in this group have any
recommendations that I can try to alleviate this? Thanks

Best regards
