VERSION DIFFERENCES IN CREO PARAMETRIC

Hello All, Greetings!

We have a peculiar scenario in which a command or set of commands work in one version of Creo Parametric but does not work in the other.

Solidify does not work in a direct manner on an offset surface/quilt in Version 11.0.1.0 but works straightaway in Version 11.0.5.0 by selecting the surface and it finishes the task!...I wish to know what made this difference. Are there a few patches installed in the later version, I mean.

How can we know what is the difference between the two versions? Where can I find this information? I will appreciate if someone can please provide guidance.

Thanks a ton.

Generally speaking, the version releases are bug fixes, although there are occassionally some major enhancements that are just a little behind and don't get introduced in major releases and get added in one of the version releases.

In your specific question, this looks like it would be a bug fix.

Thanks again.

Hi,

my basic rule regarding the version of Creo installed on computers in one design group ... all users must use the same version!

If a problem occurs and is fixed in a later version, then all users must upgrade to that version.

I agree and wanted the same but this has been a unique situation. Thank you very much. Bless you!

This is why I used a server installation of Creo instead of individual workstation installs. One upgrade on the server and an update to the batch file the users run from their desktop and everyone has the latest version. Only had less than 1 users so that was easy. Plus IT did not allow the users to install software on their workstations and we would have had to get them to do the installs, which could have taken a week or more.

Thanks a ton.

These are server installs and not individual installs. The difference in versions that I spoke about are not on the same set of workstations but separate ones, totally independent of each other.

Nonetheless, this element of few commands working in one version [Student Version 11.0.1.0] versus those same commands not working in a very similar/close version [Student Version 11.0.5.0], is what I am perplexed about and seeking an answer for.

Bless you!
