Errors in Handling interferences due to weld features

Hi,

I am trying to run the torque analysis on the flange assembly with stiffeners welded using weld features. Unfortunately I am getting errors like "Problems were encountered while preprocessing
the features for the highlighted surface."

I could not understand the root cause of the errors. please help me diagnose the issue.

Regards,

Kishore

This is the right way to calculate welded assemblies.

Sometimes (rarely), however, the weld root is also required

(please find attached file).

Hi Kishore_K,

It is difficult to understand the root cause without seeing the geometry on the other side.  Can you please share?  You can email me directly at tkraft@ptc.com or drop the files in this thread.

Weld features sometimes have issues meshing when multiple solid welds interfere or difficulty merging with bonded surfaces.  This is a known issue and I'm addressing it with a fix in Creo 12.  There are not many good workarounds in current builds except modeling the welds in a different way.

Please share...I'd like to test it with the new feature we have in Creo 12 and see if I have a solution for you in current build.

Thanks

Thank you for helping me with the converted part file.

Is this the only way to deal with assemblies with weld members? Can't we fix the interferences issues?
