Mathcad Prime does not launch after the initial splash on Windows OS

Issue:

• Mathcad Prime fails to launch after the recent Windows / .NET updates on Windows 7 x64bit
• Mathcad Prime does not launch after the initial splash on Windows OS
• Mathcad Prime isn't starting after update from KB4055002 for Microsoft .NET

Cause:
Bug with Windows security update KB4055002 for Microsoft.Net Framework 4.7.1

Resolution:

• Microsoft acknowledged the bug with Windows Update KB4055002 and released an update to fix this issue.
• Users can download and install the fix from the Microsoft catalog here
