Problem with symbolic simplification

Problem with symbolic simplification

I'm frustrated   trying to simplify   results from   symbolic   engine (new or legacy). i have tried multiple symbolic   options.

For some reason, if I go in and   manually do an   equate, stuff sort of works?

Are all your t's of the same label?

It's a known fact that the output of the  symbolic processor is hard  to control.

In your case maybe the keyword  'collect, exp' helps.

Success!

Thanks for lookig, Luc -- but your suggestion does not work.

Since you're running   Mathcad 11, can the Maple  engine   do a better job?

Don't have it at hand.

Try 'assume,t>0'

Success!

Luc

Sadly, no again.

But again, thanks for the suggestions.

Are all your t's of the same label?

Luc

Bingo!

The first expression has the first t as "automatic" and the  second t as  "variable"..

Changed the first t to "variable", and all is well.

Thanks again,

Roger
