Not a common problem for this to happen out of the blue. Mine quit when my Ethernet FW chip died. Seriously! But it let me know the license wouldn't boot.
If you get nothing, that means the license server may not be booting either.
Are you at a point where a re-install of Creo (maybe M020 🙂 ) could solve your problem sooner rather than later?
...and of course, if you have maintenance or a subscription, create a support case!
Thanks for the reply, maybe it has something to do with the video driver, it worked fine last month, have re-install the software but the problem still there.
Hi,
if you suspect graphic card driver then add following option at the end of config.pro file and launch Creo.
graphics win32_gdi
I'm reaching here but could the license be time limited?
BEX is an operating system level error and may be caused by some other program.
I met this problem before, after re-install windows system the problem will be fixed, but after a short time, do not know what happened, the problem will repeat again. Does it have something to do with win 10 system?
I have two graphics
HD intel graphics 530
NVIDIA Geforce GTX 980M
Update the graphics card drivers?
Neither graphics are officially supported by PTC.
http://support.ptc.com/WCMS/files/171727/en/dell_creo4.pdfd
This page is updated by PTC and lists their recommended build version of supported graphics cards.
That is stupid for PTC company, my computer is Alienware R17 cost over 3K, there is no problem for SolidWorks and UG NX, why Creo ?...
Hi,
did you test my tip to add following option at the end of config.pro file and launch Creo ?
graphics win32_gdi
I'm having a similar issue, how do I access the config.pro file?
Creo used to work with my NVidia card; now it won't display anything in the model window. Program works (but not as well) when run with integrated graphics.
Hi,
search Creo installation directory for config.pro file.
For example, in my CR2 installation ... path to config.pro file is ...
C:\PTC\Creo2_M070\Creo 2.0\Common Files\M070\text\config.pro
My system won't allow me to make changes to that file. I updated the write permissions for the file and each folder it's in, but no luck.
Hi,
launch Notepad as Administrator and then edit the file.
Hi,
if I were you I would test also Creo 3.0 and Creo 2.0 installation.
I am not saying Creo won't run on a GeForce card, just it is not certified. If you check the NX support pages, you will find that the GeForce cards are not certified there either. GeForce are considered gaming cards so a perfect one for your Alienware machine. Quadro are the CAD level cards that most vendors certify.
