Dependencies, References, Reference Viewer, and Check-in

Hello,

I am attempting to check a drawing into Common PDM and there is a part coming with it that is listed as an "optional dependent".  However, when I open the reference viewer for the drawing, this part is not listed as a child nor a parent.  Therefore, why is the drawing pulling this part with it?  Thank you.
