Make temporary dimensions in sketcher using hover & r key permanent?

Good Day Everyone,

Hoping this is a simple one with Creo 3. Looking at the following video on the learning exchange (support access required for link below), why would PTC not give us the ability to make the temporary dimensions permanent when hovering over existing sketch entities and pressing the r key?

Or can we make the temporary dimensions permanent?

This functionality (and video) is specifically for layout sketching, correct?

You are correct that it is specifically for layout sketching. Would be nice to have some of this functionality in Creo Parametric Sketch mode.
