graphics card for Dell T3500

We've been getting Dell T3500 workstations configured with Intel Xeon CPUs,an NVidia Quadro FX580& running 64 bit Windows 7 as our standard Pro/E workstation for a while now. Dell is telling us that the FX580 is no longer available and the most recent PC shipped with the ATI FirePro V4800. The specs for the card look good and it's comparable to the NVidia Quadro 600, but we've always specified NVidia cards because they perform well and have proven to be stable. Dell lists the Quadro 600 as an option, but it's not "certified" by PTC for the most recent releases of Pro/E ("Creo 1") on Windows 7 - the V4800 is on PTC's list. Right now we're still running Pro/E Wildfire 3 M250 and Intralink 3.4, will be migrating to Wildfire 4 along with Windchill 10 later this year and probably Creo 2 within the lifespan of these workstations. We don't want to spend the extra nearly $400 per to go to the Quadro 2000 (which has some mixed reviews here on the user board), so what are your thoughts on the ATI FirePro V4800?Thanks!

Regards,

Erik

Gerry,

What OS and version of Pro/E are you running? I'm guessing that PTC just hasn't tested the 600 with Win 7 and recent releases of Pro/E (it's not listed under Win7 but is under XP)on the T3500 but hason the T5500. I think any risk with the 600 is lower than the risk in going with an ATI card. Thanks for the feedback.
