PDF Extension 3.0 - CreatePDF - HTTPS Address

Hello

Has anyone been successful with creating a PDF file using PDF Export service from the PDF extension 3.0, using an HTTPS address on ThingWorx 8.2.1.?

I have worked with this extension in the past with PDF extension 2.0 and this worked fine, however to note I was using a HTTP address. Also using ThingWorx 8.2.1.

Any support would be appreciated,

Thanks,

Sean

If you're using a PTC hosted instance, then you need to open a ticket to have some packages installed in that instance. Look at the latest post from https://community.ptc.com/t5/ThingWorx-Developers/PDFExport-not-working-on-Red-Hat-Linux/td-p/530697/page/4 . The background of this issue is that the third party component I'm using to render a page requires different packages for different OS versions, and those packages are not installed in the OS by default typically.

Hi Sean,

I did test it in 8.2.1 and it worked. Can you specify any additional details regarding your situation? Do you have an entry in the ApplicationLog? Does the service finishes running or is it forever running?

Thanks for the quick repsonse Vladimir.

I have attached the return I get after 5 mins, nothing seems to appear in the application logs.

Thanks

Sean

If you delete the / from the file name does it work? So try with the filename as "Report.pdf".

@VladimirRosu Just tried that and it seems to be stuck on Executing. I am using an application key with Administrative powers too just for testing.

What operating system are you using? I mean the one where Tomcat is running.

I am unable to get the version of Tomcat as this is a PTC ThingWorx hosted solution. I would presume it to be same set up between other solutions.

Just a small ask, please let us know if this works after the modification has been done.

Thanks!
