Why does Creo 10 not have smt_dflt_bend_radius

Why does Creo 10 not have smt_dflt_bend_radius

We had set the default bend radius for everyone by adding smt_dflt_bend_radius smt_thickness*0.5 to our config.pro so everyone had the same bend radius's and was more accurate on how it was built. I was designing a bunch new Sheetmetal parts only to realize the default is now .03 which cant actually be made when your are bending .25" thick Sheetmetal. So i went to check the configuration editor and smt_dflt_bend_radius now has a cross out symbol.

Is there a new way to set this so everyone has the same default bend radius so no one forgets and sends out a part that cant be made?

We can't answer. Please ask in forum with Creo 10 experts.

I thought this was that forum. Could you point me to the correct one.

Thank you

I don't know why PTC makes this so complicate and difficult.

You should look here:

https://community.ptc.com/t5/CAD/ct-p/cad

and then I guess "3D Part & Assembly Design" would be right.

Hi @TWATSONBTU,

I have moved this post to the Creo Parametric forum.

That is not a valid config.pro option in Creo 9. What version of Creo Parametric are you upgrading from?

It worked in creo 8

It is not listed as a config option in the official list of configs for Creo 8.

configoptionspmapdf.pdf (ptc.com)

I have only seen it as a model property.

There is always more to learn in Creo.

Bend Dimensions commands:
Radius—Sets the bend radius thickness and dimension location option.
Thickness—Uses a radius equal to the thickness of the sheet metal wall.
2.0 * Thickness—Uses a radius equal to twice the thickness of the sheet metal wall.
[<Parameter Value>]—Uses a radius set by the SMT_DFLT_BEND_RADIUS parameter.

This would be in your start part for sheetmetal parts. It's not a config option as best as I can tell (i'm on creo 6)

Its a parameter.

Sorry all i had been super busy and hadn't had time to look into this more. I needed something that would be global so everyone in the company would have the same settings for sheet metal. I came across a page that mentioned using a template for these settings. and since we already use a template for our sheet metal that is what i did. I changed the material to CRs and set the bend radius to .5 x thickness and it worked perfectly.

I just hate that CREO likes to get rid of useful features.

SMT_THICKNESS will reflect the current thickness of your smt component.
Set your config.pro and use a template which uses your default thickness for every user.
