What happened to the pdesolve function till Mathcad 15, where there significant changes - because it claims that variables may not be found?

Not sure what your problem is. Both files referenced in this old thread are working pretty well here in Mathcad 15 (M010). See attached pdfs.
Are you using Mathcad 15 with localized language? You may run into a lot of problems if you do (I did using the german flavor of MC) as what is meant to be variable t is interpreted as unit tons, s as seconds, L as litre, etc. Great, when using laplace and invlaplace 😉 You even cannot use lets say t in a quickplot - you would have to (re)define t as a rangevariable beforehand.
Some times ago I used to use variables t. and s. in my sheets to make them look like t and s but it got too annoying and confusing and does not help if you want to use worksheets from somewhere else, e.g. this forum, which use s, t, etc.
It's better to set Math language to english to avoid those problems. But be aware that if you do so, you would have to use the english keywords only. When you open older worksheets the keywords used therein are automatically translated, so you should not run into problems that way.

Edited: Just tried to open one of the sheets while math language was set to german an got the exact error you reported. So I suppose you are using a localized version.

...and switch off units:
Yes, thats true. Turning off units helps in this case and many others and you don't even have to restart Mathcad, because its a worksheet option only. But very often that approach is inapplicable, as you may need units in your worksheet, too.
I really don't like Prime but to what I have learned it seems that Prime is doing better in that respect in two ways. First Prime strictly distinguishes between units and variables and second the localization only effects menus and help, but not the math language and I think its better that way.

1. My Mathcad has this template:
2. Mathcad Prime can work with units by DEs solution but does not have the pdesolve function!
Valery you are great - switching math language into English helped....
otherwise no single quicksheet using pdesolve works!
shame on PTC
many many thanks

You welcome, but...
Sorry - it was Werner with English, I was with units!
