PROE Abrubtly Closes

Hey Guys, I am a new network administrator/proe installer, as my compnay and have run across a very odd problem. We have Pro E Wildfire installed on a Dell PC with a Xeon Quad Core and XP 64 bit. Every time we open Pro E on this machine, within 5-10 seconds of initial loading the program will close abrutly wihtout and error message or notification. The Pro E program does come up and you can click on various icons and buttons before the program closes. We have tried a clean install of Pro E twice now, one time under Program Files, and the other under Program Files(x86). Please let me know if anyone else has come across this issue and has found a solution! Thanks -Dan

If I understand correctly you are trying to install the 32-bit version on a 64-bit machine. You need to get the 64-bit version.

PROE 32 bit will NOT work with XP 64? If thats my problem, than its an easy(but expensive) solution. Thanks

Hello there, Actually pro/e 32 DOES work under Windows XP 64 bits. I have installed that way, and it runs just fine, very little difference, much lower exit rate than before (pro/e 32 on WXP 32) At first we installed WXP64 and Pro/E 64, but that version of pro/e doesn't have the print to pdf option in the drawing enviroment, PTC simply decided not to put it on this version of pro/e. Anyway as we work with pdf drawing we had to roll back to Pro/e 32, but keeping the WXP 64 plattform in orden to make use of all the ram available (guessing it uses it all) But so far, no issues with this setting
