Slow editing notes

Slow editing notes

Hi I need some help. My company just upgraded to Creo. I am now having an issue with preformance. in a drawing everytime i try to edit a note it takes about 35 seconds to open the properties. while doing this creo becomes unresponsive. after it opens it runs fast again until you try to edit a note. then you have another 35 seconds to wait. I am sure it is not the computer because they are new systems we got and are screaming fast... I was wondering if there was a config option not set correctly and creo has to check that each time then continue. thanks for the help.

ok it looks like it was the pro_font_dir \\LINUX2\shared\ENGINEERING\Pro Engineer\Config\Fonts option i had set

appearently it has to think about that everytime becuase I took that out and it works now like it should. I added it because I wanted to specify the font dir so the other creo user and I would both be using the same dir not the ones on our local machines. the fix i found was to just make sure we both have all the fonts we use in the defualt creo font location.

just tried loading creo with it's default options and not my config file. there is no delay in editing text when using that so it must be something with my config.pro file so here it is maybe someone can spot the error.

If you believe it to be a config file problem then compare your config side by side with the default config.

Thanks I do know now it must be something with the config because the defualt does not do it. however a comparison between the 2 would not tell me much because almost nothing is the same as the default. I posted mine minus the map keys hopeing someone would know by looking at it what it was. alot of these settings came from my wildfire 3.0 config file I used. I just updated it to use with creo.

ok it looks like it was the pro_font_dir \\LINUX2\shared\ENGINEERING\Pro Engineer\Config\Fonts option i had set

Where do you find the original config.pro to compare this too?

Also, how did you set the pro_font_dir if that was your error?

I am having similar situation with my setup.

Thanks,

Dale

Scot,

1.] do not use spaces in folder names (rename Pro Engineer to ProEngineer)

2.] try to map your share to disc letter ... eg. map \\LINUX2\shared to X:

and use pro_font_dir X:\ENGINEERING\ProEngineer\Config\Fonts
