Is there a way to turn off the dot number on the end of all of the Pro/E files?

That's how ProE keeps track of versions. It even happens in your Windchill cache, but it's just hidden from you. If you use the workspace cache recovery tool you will see that all the versions are there.
You might be able to tell Windows Explorer to hide them in the folder display, but then you'd have a whole bunch of files that appear to be the same. Dangerous business.
I need to ask. Why would you want to loose the extension?
