Hi there,
one of my colleagues has an issue with his windchill login in Creo Parametric 8.0.6.0.
He has to type in his credentials every time Creo starts. The "remember my password" checkbox seams to be ignored.
I found this case https://www.ptc.com/en/support/article/CS257316 , but it was not helpful.
Where does chromium store its passwords (maybe that file is corrupted / broken)?
Or any other clues?
Any help would be appreciated.

The passwords are stored in the Windows Credential Manager:
The issue with the 'Remember my password' box not being checked was fixed in 8.0.6.0. This is documented here:
https://www.ptc.com/en/support/article/CS372500
What this support article doesn't mention is that the underlying credential manager was changed, and passwords are lost when jumping back and forth between different credential manager versions.
Old Credential Manager
Creo Parametric 7.0.8.0 (and prior)
Creo Parametric 8.0.4.0 (and prior)
Creo Parametric 9.0.0.0
Windchill Workgroup Manager 12.1.0.2 (and prior)
New Credential Manager
Creo Parametric 7.0.9.0 (and later)
Creo Parametric 8.0.5.0 (and later)
Creo Parametric 9.0.1.0 (and later)
Windchill Workgroup Manager 12.1.1.0 (and later)
Thanks Tom,
I can confirm, that Creo 8.0.6.0 has the newer credential manager:
And when my colleague and I updated Creo, we had to type in our credentials again. No problem there.
But his installation refuses to remember his credentials.
He has to type in his username and password every time he starts Creo.
Odd, we're all running 8.0.6.0 here and not having any issues with it remembering the passwords. Maybe try creating a new cache or at least deleting the embedded browser cache. See https://www.ptc.com/en/support/article/cs368331
Is the password being stored by Windchill/Creo or by Windows? Maybe the user selected Never when Windows asked to remember the password.
The passwords are stored in the Windows Credential Manager:
Thanks Randy,
I will give that a try.
deleting the cache and a (maybe corrupt) credential entry solved the problem.
Thanks all for Your help
