Hi everyone, I’m currently learning ThingWorx and trying to connect a small IoT setup, but I’m a bit confused about the correct architecture and would really appreciate some guidance. My current setup uses an ESP8266-based NodeMCU board to read data from a wireless AC current sensor. At the moment, the ESP8266 collects the sensor data and displays it on a local web server using an HTTP client. That part is working fine. Now I want to extend this project so the device can send the sensor data to **ThingWorx for monitoring and analytics**, ideally using **MQTT** since it seems to be the common approach for IoT communication. From what I understand so far, the workflow might look something like this: Sensor → ESP8266 → MQTT → ThingWorx However, I’m unsure about a few things: Do I need to install and run a **separate MQTT broker** (for example Mosquitto) between the ESP8266 and ThingWorx?Does **ThingWorx provide its own MQTT broker**, or does it only act

I used the above code to obtain the model according to the principle that the array parts indicated by the red arrow were obtained, but the source file indicated by the green arrow was obtained. I'm using Creo 11 w/ Complete Machining Extension. I'm trying to learn 5-axis milling capabilities of Creo and I want to have a full tool library curated by someone else. I have downloaded the "Tooling Library" from PTC page "Legacy Creo Libraries".https://www.ptc.com/en/support/enablement/AdditionalCreolibraries Can anyone teach me or send me documentation on how to make use of the tools inside of Creo. For every .prt file of a tool there seems to be a corresponding .mnu file and there are 3 or 4 .exe. I imagine there is a way to view the .mnu files in a master menu with graphics, but I don't know. Thanks,Kevin

How do I get the folder ID? Right now I am trying to use the Windchill REST Services site where it generates the request and response for you. I assume that under the data administration domain you can get folders from a container using /Containers{'ContainerID'}'/Folders but it seems like none of the folders show up when I provide the ContainerID for an organization. Version: Windchill 13.0   Use Case: Using the + sign on multi-valued attributes with enumeration or pick list is an awful UX design. Has anyone built a data utility or interface JSP to populate using drop down checklist or a multi-select check list (like the type manager has). Description: when selecting multiple values for an attribute, there is a + (plus) sign to add another row to pick more values.   All other interfaces in the world (including type selection in the search ) us pull-down checkboxes, or pick list    has anyone already built the customization to do this that can be easily plugged in.  (Hopefully would be universal to handle any attribute)

I have created a data utility on an attribute which opens a jsp when clicked. Now in this jsp i've created a wizard and added a wizard step. In the wizard step I have 2 table builders, so when i click on the Ok button i want to get the selected objects. But I'm unable to call a form processor on this wizard.

Hi all,I am building an automated drawing export system using Creo Toolkit (Creo 12, Windows, DLL architecture). PDF and DXF batch export are working perfectly via ProPDFExport and Pro2dExport. PLT export has been the blocker for 2+ days.What I have tried:1. I'm using Creo 2.0 currently and would like to be able to assign material properties to bulk items in an assembly I have. I want this for reporting the PTC_MATERIAL_NAME parameter in my drawing BOM. In the assembly model in Creo 2.0, there's no way to right-click on a part and assign materials. For each part, I have to open them and manually set the material by going to File -> Prepare -> Model Properties, which is not an option for bulk materials because the only way to access them is through the Relations window. PTC_MATERIAL_NAME is a reserved parameter and cannot be manually added in relations. Do I need to change my BOM settings to a user defined parameter for each part in the model? Any other workaround?

When I go into WindChill it shows me logged in for a second but then the message "plm.epdm.army.mil says : You do not have access to this object or it does not exist." I am then kicked out of the website and unsure who/how to contact for support. I checked My Access ePDM and all my access is still approved and up to date. I've been using WindChill with no issue for 3-4 months now until yesterday when this issue fist occurred.

Hello, I am using Creo Parametric 10.0.10.0.When we use a threaded hole feature fabrication needs some information.Thread size, thread depth etc.Using hole chart make this possible.But when we have a pattern of a threaded hole, we also want to see the number of holes.Because this is related to a feature ID i can't seem to figure out how to make this possible.In attached picture you can see what i tried.Does anyone have a solution for me? Thanks in advance. LD

Hello,I'm a new Windchill admin. During our setup, we created some attributes that we wanted required on parts and assemblies documents. The intention is that engineers will fill out these attributes for every design. The problem is that now those attributes are also required for templates (even though they are in a different Context), which defeats the purpose. If I fill in the attributes in the templates, then those attributes will probably be left with the default and not updated by the engineers.How can I set those attributes to only be required in one context? Right now CAD Documents and WTparts have constraints for Enumerated Value List and Required. I can Add Conditions to these constraints and choose Context as the "Driver Attribute". I've been putting in the name of the Context where I want the attribute required, but this doesn't work. It ends up not being required anywhere, like the condition is never being met. Is the Context name not the right way to identify a Context? I

I have stream which have data in 11 columns, and rows have data as well as null values. I want to create a service which goal is,Fetch ~500 records from a ThingWorx StreamInsert them in a single bulk operation into Postgres using a DB Connector.please anyone can help me how to create this service and their logics. 

Hi Community, I am currently working on an integration scenario where I consume data from multiple external APIs (e.g., SAP, APLUs and 4 additional interfaces ).   Each API delivers data in a slightly different structure, but the overall processing logic in ThingWorx is quite similar: Call external API Receive data Perform transformation / validation Execute business logic Return structured output To avoid duplication and improve maintainability, I am considering the following generic approach: Proposed Approach Create a Thing Template that contains: Generic input definitions (API endpoint, headers, payload, etc.) A standardized output structure (e.g., JSON) Shared services for: API execution Data transformation Error handling Logging Then create individual Things inheriting from this Thing Template for each interface (SAP APLUs, Interface2, Interface3, etc.) Override only specific logic where necessary This way: Core logic is centralized

I've got a Creo CAD assembly in Windchill that is linked to a WTPart using the Owner link. The part structure will successfully build. The problem is that for some reason on the CAD page, the "compare to part structure" button is grayed out. On the WTPart page, I am able to get the comparison. I've checked for failed placements, and that doesn't seem to be the issue as the structure will successfully build. I've tried unassociating the WTPart and reassociating it. I've tried checking out the CAD model regenerating, saving, and checking back in. I've even tried suppressing everything and then checking back in. The compare button continues to be grayed out.  Any ideas how to resolve? 

Has anyone else seen this issue?   Sporadically, the audit log shows a user logging in multiple times at the same timestamp. Normally this wouldn't matter, but if the user is assigned an ADU license and it's the first time they are logging in that day, they end up consuming multiple licenses for that day. I'd like to figure out what causes it and see if we can prevent it.   We are using Windchill 12.0.2.8  

Hi, We're using Creo 10.0.6.0 and currently evaluating the ECAD-MCAD Collaboration (ECX) which allows using IDX files. On the ECAD side, we use Cadence. We ran into a snag because we have rigid flex assemblies that use multiple thicknesses, but Creo doesn't support that yet. Version: Windchill 13.0 Use Case: Please refer to the attached image. As it can be seen, the table contains three objects. It can be seen that two of these objects represent two different revisions of the same part instance ('JW-BIKESN01' at Rev A & B).Description: I would like to configure Windchill so that the table only shows the latest revision of each different part instance. Is this possible?

Version: Windchill 13.0 Use Case: I am performing a an import of data from a source environment. Using the import/export management tool, I am presented with the following error when trying to do the import. "WTDocument: 123 ( 000073 ) A.2" cannot be imported because the revision "A" is invalid" The issue can be overcome when I check the "Resolve overridable conflicts" check box. I have checked the version sequence on both the source and target environment and they are identical.Description: Can anybody explain why I am receiving this error message?
