Hello there,  In the past, I had some trouble keeping eye on the syntax for some of config files for Creo. There are so many different config files, and each use their own syntax, and if you miss just one char Creo won’t load it. It was especially tiresome for me when I wanted to add IFX fasteners to the library with custom parameters and such.For a long time I had an idea to make a little software that can handle all the config options for Creo. I’ll be honest here, I’m not and expert programmer, I just know enough that I know my limits, so it is clearly made with AI. But a tool is just a tool for me, and I’ll be using it for my self, and if anyone interested, I’m open to sharing it for free.If you are interested what functions would you like to see in it? Would you be open to test it with me?

Hello everyone, First of all, I would like to express my sincere thanks to the authors of Creoson and Creopyson for their work and for everything these tools make possible. We have developed a Python application to automate the export of DRW drawings into various output formats while applying specific file naming conventions.However, we are experiencing significant delays when our application requests Creo to access DRW files. For example, opening a relatively small drawing can sometimes take several minutes. We do not observe these delays when opening the same file directly in Creo.For reference, Creoson, our Python application, and all Creo files are hosted on an internal company server. We are trying to determine the source of these delays. Hello,With my current employer there is some “masking” at times of our internal part numbers.This is because certain customers may require our part number be translated to match their numbering system.The issue is that we are expected to maintain universal/internal part numbers for our assemblies but then at times provide a customer the same assembly and drawing using only the customer’s part numbers.I am aware it is possible to have Table Formats for each customer having a column declaring the respective customer’s number from the properties of the item, but I hope that there is some way to maintain a single drawing and assembly for translation of the assembly and BoM to reflect a customer’s numbering system dynamically.This will remove possibility of duplicate items and entropy with that scenario.I assume it would be best for a BoM to be adjusted outside of Creo systems, but then the assemblies themselves they would not properly identify themselves via customer part numbering.Is ther

I am trying to run a program out of smart assembly and it gets about 260 lines into it and just freezes. It looks like the xtop.exe has stopped working. Even leaving the file alone to run for a bit it never comes back and i have to “Kill” the program and open back everything up to model again. It doesn’t get me an error code to follow up with. This program has been working just fine up until the last 2-3 weeks. I have run other drawing type programs out of the same model assembly and they work just fine. I am Running Creo 10.0 with Smart Assembly 10. Could this be an update that would be messing with this? Also i have tried to create this in both Windchill and from my “C” drive and i get the same issue. I have had other people try to create and they have the same issue as well. 

Can we able to develop a web-based drawing automation application using Creo J-Link & Java Toolkit, where end users can upload the 3D data to generate drawings in web based application without opening or interacting with Creo? The drawing generation process should run in the background,  and users should be able to upload models and receive the generated drawings through the web application interface.

hole_file_resolution use internal How do I updated old files so that any hole callout they are using is saved internally, without going back through every part and updating every hole callout? Up till now, cad files have not been saving .hol files internally.The .hol files have since been updated to include default_callout_format_data. (which allowed me to combine multiple files into one)So using the same file names on .hol callouts wont work, because I was able to reduce the total number required.The main issue, now when I go to put in a hole, there are multiple ‘Thread Type’ selections and half of them will be unused going forward.But if I remove them, old files will contain incomplete hole callouts due to the ‘hole_file_resolution use internal’ not being set when the part was created.Hiding the old .hol files so they can still be read but are not displayed would be acceptable as well, but I’m not seeing any options for that.Any suggestions on how to use the new .hol files without wa

I’m investigating a Creo OTK Java casting issue in Creo Parametric 12.4.3.0 and would appreciate any confirmation or guidance from others who have seen this. Based on the documentation and shipped Java examples, I expected direct casts such as WSession wSession = (WSession) session, WSolid wSolid = (WSolid) model, and WFeature wFeat = (WFeature) feat to work. However, in controlled tests, the objects returned from ordinary acquisition paths come back as runtime classes like com.ptc.wfc.Implementation.pfcSession$Session, com.ptc.wfc.Implementation.pfcPart$Part, and com.ptc.wfc.Implementation.pfcDatumPlaneFeat$DatumPlaneFeat, and direct Java casts to WSession, WSolid, and WFeature fail with ClassCastException. Hey I really struggle to understand how can we custom AFX library. I’ve manange to add few simple profile (from NORCAN library) by duplicating existing profile in afk and changing the section. It “worked” in the framekwork assembly module.Nevertheless, in the draw name, size, type and length are completly out of sense regarding the added profile. Moreover, even though I can create simple join and it works well, some other are broken (cf screenshot).I don’t know by the way how we can create profile from scratch.DrawJoin 

I am trying to achieve one or both things - Disable what I’ll call “context-based filters” for commands. For instance - in order to add a hatch to a surface in a drawing, as far as I can tell, I must have layout tab active, and surface selected as the selection filter. If these aren’t absolute requirements, there seem to be many cases where hatch/fill isn’t available to me. It isn’t always intuitive to determine how to “expose” certain commands, and so I’d like to be able to disable default “context-based filters.”  If above isn’t possible, is there a clear way to review commands and see what their requirements are? In the above example - how to know the requirements of ‘hatch/fill.’ I find it cumbersome to look up and remember the conditions for each command. I have been doing this and creating my own table, but it is becoming a burden to my workflow.If neither are possible, “not possible” will suffice. Thanks in advance.

Hi everyone,I'm working on a Creo Toolkit (Pro/Toolkit) application and need to create a blend feature programmatically.The version of Creo Parametric I am using is 6.0.I have created two sketches (Sketch1 and Sketch2) and need to generate a blend solid/surface based on these two sections. I have searched for relevant information online, but there are almost no usable examples or clear API documentation regarding the creation method of blend features in Toolkit secondary development. Thank you in advance for any insights or code examples.

If I have this I could ask for tolerance and build my text exactly like Creo is resolving it.I consider this as an issue with documentation that is clearly saying that when you use “Symbolic” mode text should not be resolved. Hi all,Is there a toolkit equivalent of Creo UI operation, “Save as Mirror Assembly” or “Mirror part” available? I’m trying to automate the mirroring of an existing assembly and the associated drawing using protoolkit without recreating the model from scratch? After the mirror operation completes, is there a way to update the existing drawing with its dimensions to reflect the mirrored geometry?Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.Thank you. 

I know that striking through notes has been a topic of discussion in the community before, but after being annoyed by having to manually draw lines through text for the last year, I spent some time creating custom TrueType font files that include strikethrough directly (because I couldn’t find any strikethrough font files out on the internet that I trusted). So if anyone happens to be using Arial, Century Gothic, or Times as their main drawing fonts, then feel free to download these TrueType font files for your own use.

We're interested in SmartAssembly for a project we have.  It will involve a model using a number of curves generated from .pts tables.  We would want to code both the initial setup, and revisions using new point data.  To do one set, it's simply start the offset points operation, set the coordinate system, browse to the table, then done.  Making the curve is even simpler.  And to update means just edit definition of the pts table, browsing to new, and all that.  Doing it multiple times, it's a couple of simple steps, set within a loop, where the names of the tables increment through a preset sequence (TURN01_V1, TURN01_V2, TURN02_V1, etc).   Question is, does smartassembly have this capability, or more specifically, is that something that can be coded for use in smart assembly?  I am not looking for the code, just some feedback from SA users as to whether we are looking at the right software?
