Trying to get free version of modeling express to work get proxy error and have in the past always been able to manually request activation key. Currently that just gets a cloudflare error which seems to indicate a server error on PTC's side. Please help. Can't find an email. Support appears to be lost.
Reference topic - Please solve this issue as I have been a user of the FREE version, Creo Elements Direct Express, since 2012 as while training us on the full Creo which my company was using. My company asked us to get the free version do we could learn when not at work.I use this for my woodworking hobby and this "less than full version" is ideal for my hobby!Best regards, Hans Sitte
I want to break the links in the model so I can delete parts in the copy of the model I saved. How do you do this?If I can’t break the links, when I reopen the copy where I have previously deleted parts regenerating errors occur with regenerating message stating x number of missing model
I have fastener holes on a curved feature that looks likes it was created with a resolve. I checked the fastener hole edge curves on both sides of this feature, which is nonplanar. One side of the hole is made up of two split arc edges. The other side of the hole is made up of two spit spline edges. The spine edges is an issue in creating a fastener in Simulate. I tied to use the Round to edit the spines but if this is the correct tool I can’t figure out how to replace the spine edge with arc edges. Does anyone know the approach to doing this? I only have the Creo Parametric not any advanced design add-on licenses.
Is there a way to adjust (or slide) the Datum along its extension line on a Creo drawing? I remember you used to be able to do that but it seems that’s no longer the case. Please see attachment.
the image is related. whenever i try to open the file it shows this blank screen. I’m new to creo student edition and don’t know much. I was previously an onshape user. i had made backups and made sure to save it a couple of times before closing. The random save i did while sketching is visible for some reason but none of my extrusions are visible.i scanned all my pc’s recent files to see if i had accidently saved it somewhere else too but its to no luck. The sketch from the above mentioned case is not fully visible too.
I am using Creo Elements/Direct Modeling Release 20.1 and Datecode20.1.0.0 I am unable to open the CAD file using drag-and-drop. Here are the errors that I faced Stop sign
Hello, since a few days i can not get a licence for Direkt Express 8.0 Free. It had worked without problems before. The manual activation fails too with just an error message. A code is not generated. I have no idea wether the problem is on my computer or on the server site. What can i do?
I have a restricted value that if selected I would like for it to populate the description field in the parameter file, highlighted in yellow.
When configuring the print settings for Annotation and Drafting, I want the printer type, name, and paper size to be displayed with only the required setting values.
Hello,Is there a way to create a symbol from a saved sketch?I have a sketch that I saved as “.sec” file. Then when I go to create a symbol (Define Symbol), there is no option that I could find to import the .sec file to create my symbol.
Hello Community Members,We are currently evaluating and benchmarking some plugins for Creo and need large native Creo assembly datasets for load and stress testing. We have already searched several CAD repositories and community sites, including GrabCAD, but haven't been able to find assemblies that are large enough for our testing requirements. We're looking for native Creo assemblies with characteristics such as:Large number of components (preferably 10,000+ if possible)We'd like to understand how a "large" Creo model is typically defined. Is it based on:File size (MB/GB)?Number of parts/components in the assembly?Another metric commonly used for benchmarking and performance testing?
When I export a PDF, the phantom and hidden lines appear to be the same, but in the Creo drawing, it’s clearly different. The only way I found that will reflect the phantom line geometry is what I did with the line highlighted in yellow. I described how I did it below.Does anyone know how to fix this? I want to use the component display to make the lines phantomopque, and have it reflected when I export a PDF. Yellow - I went to display<Line Style<Modify Lines<PHANTOMFONTBlue - I went to Component Display<PhantomOpqueGreen - Hidden Line Thank you to anyone who can help.
How do you activate the lattice feature, does it require an additional module?
I am using Creo Elements/Direct Modeling Release 20.4 and Datecode20.4.3.0 If one of these situations happen, sometimes the CREO turns-off/dissapears (the window dissapears, as well as the icon in the taskbar) and all the work that has been done and it is not saved is lost. As the Windchill is still running, this are the steps we have to do: 1. Close Windchill 2. Reopen Creo 3. Reopen Windchill 4. Reload the cad. This has a long time consumption, as well as making us lose the work done. This situation SOMETIMES happens when: 1. The laptop is disconnected from the screens 2. The laptop is disconnected from the docking 3. Laptop enters sleep mode or autohibernation Here are the errors that I faced No warning. Only the icon of the CREO in the keybar dissapears, as well as the CREO screen.
Back in 2012 I purchased a WF5.0 Student license. Since it is tied to the network adapter of the computer, I assigned it to a USB NIC so I could move to a new computer without requesting a new license file. While that did work for a long time, I recently started having problems with that network adapter disconnecting. (I used to remove it when I wasn’t using it to “protect it” and probably damaged a wire.)As I recall, when I moved the license from the original computer to the USB NIC, there was an email address I need to send my information to.Is that still the method to make this change, or is there another way to accomplish this task?If this is the method, can someone provide me the correct email address?
Hi there,I have used Creo Direct V19 on my old laptop for 4 years without issue (even worked when OS upgraded to Windows 11).On transferring to a new PH ZBook Intel(R) Core(TM) Ultra 7 265H (2.20 GHz) Win 11 Creo now has strange clipping on flyover selection where the surface highlights in orange (as normal) but now the whole surface jumps in front of other parts, while before only the visible area would be highlighted. After selecting a surface, the whole part also jumps to render in full in front of other parts. When moving a part dynamically, the part (or assembly) will begin clipping and disappear as its is moved.Switching off hardware acceleration (CPU only) resolves these issues but the frame rate is unusable. The new laptop has the latest drivers installed for the Intel Arc Pro 140T (16GB) and NVIDIA RTX PRO 2000 Blackwell Generation Laptop GPU.Just wondering if anyone else has seen this and found a solution to it?Thank you Cal
The 3d models that my organization manage almost all belong to a top-level facility assembly in CED all stored in Manager Server of course. The top-level assembly is organized by rooms and the top-level assembly of each room is in a container. The vast majority of the time we are loading just sub-assemblies of the local area that we are interested in when loading from the server to CED Modeling. Occasionally we do need to load the top-level assembly when creating facility layout images for example.Over the 30+ years that we have been using CED (ME30->CoCreate->CED) the top level assembly has gotten quite large. Previously the assembly would take days to load from Manager Server but would eventually finish. Modeling performed pretty well once the load was complete.Recent attempts to load our top-level assembly have been unsuccessful. Most recently the load failed after chugging away for 10 days. The error thrown was “LISP error: Cannot open the file” followed by a file name in a l
Software: Creo Elements/Direct Modeling 19.0Goal: I am looking for a way to automatically rename all components (parts and assemblies) within a specific top-level assembly using a sequential naming convention (e.g., PART-001, PART-002, PART-003...).Details: Doing this manually in the Structure Browser is extremely time-consuming for large assemblies. I would like to find a solution (either a built-in command or a LISP script) that allows me to: Select a Parent Assembly. Define a Prefix (e.g., "MYSYSTEM-"). Automatically apply a three-digit increment (001, 002...) to all children. Questions: Is there a hidden command in the standard UI that supports "Prefix + Increment" renaming? If not, does anyone have a LISP macro or utility that can automate this task? Are there any "Best Practices" to avoid naming conflicts when doing this in a large session? Any help, sample code, or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
With version 20.8 I cannot access anymore the remote license Server status using http://<Remote License Server>:17171. Logged to the server http://localhost:17171 works as expected.Il there any workaround or some administration command to use?

Hi, the server for using direkt modeling express is down therefore i cannot copy an activation key, can you help please?Best Andre
Current version: Windchill 12.1 with Creo Elements/Direct Modeling 20.7 When using CED Modeling in combination with Windchill, it is possible to show Windchill attributes in the structure browser through structure browser views. It would be great to have these attributes also shown in the tooltip when hovering over a component (instead of showing the structure browser path of the selected component) in order to have more clarity/information when navigating the viewport.
When you are trying to install Creo Elements/Direct Model Manager on a Server with multiple network interfaces, it is a more a gamble than a real specified process, whether the installation will succeed or not.Even when you have succeeded in installing Model Manager on a server with multiple network interfaces you may get wrong answers from the http://<server>:9898/ port, where IP-address is mentioned again.....In the past the typical server within a CAD installation had one network interface working (simply unhooking the cable) and everything goes fine.In the meantime you will encounter other configurations:1.) network interface to the management net2.) network interface to the production net (e.g. 1GBit)3.) network interface to the production net (e.g. 10GBit)4.) network interface via the USB connection to the KVM system used for dealing with problems standing directly in front of the rack.* When the algorithm within the product selects the wrong interface during the insta
Creo Elements Direct Modeling 20.7.1.0 (English):I can't "snap to" or "catch" an intersection when dimensioning. In this case I would like to dimension from the bottom of a key slot to the top of the shaft at the 12 o'clock position. The only way i have found is to draw a very short vertical geometry line at the point where the center line intersects the diameter line. When I create this line I can snap/catch the intersection of the center line and the diameter line WHY can't I catch the same intersection when dimensioning?Thank you for your help.Tim Higdon
