How to create a helical cable in the Cabling application

Hi friends. I'm researching that how to create helical cable in cabling. I found a method but it's not practical.
My method is;
- Create curve through helical sweep
- Create a ratio datum point that is located on the helical sweep.
- pattern point by increment 0.01
- Route the cable through these points
Disadvantage of this method, there are too much points (about 50-100) and ı have to select these one by one. (can't select as a whole by shift key).
Do you know another method (and more practical) to create a helical cable in the cabling application. Help Please?
