Nonpaged Memory increase over timeI have trouble with linearly increasing “Nonpaged memory” allocation. I inspect the memory allocation with RAMMap. Our machines server system keeps getting slower and slower, so we started investigating.The picture above shows it: “Nonpaged memory” started at 776,088 KB after rebooting the HyperV. After that, it increased up by 5 GB in total.Our setup is:HyperV with Windows Server 2019; Host is Windows Server 2022. On the HyperV: KEPServerEX 6.15 / V6.15.154.0 Omron FINS Ethernet (16 devices; CJ2 PLCs) Siemens TCP/IP Ethernet (1 device; S7-300) OPC UA Server as the connector to our SCADA system (Running on the same HyperV) In the second table, you can see that the memory allocation stops growing once I turn off Kepserver. There is one section where the memory doesnt grow even though the Omron acquisition is running. I think that in that case the time period is too short. Questions:Did you ever face a similar issue? Hi. I want to use my s7 1500 as an OPC UA client over online connection. I am able to browse all OPC UA server tags, but I still can’t read the values. Note that I used OPC UA readlist instruction and the status is false for error, done or busy and the status itself shows 16#0070_0000.Please, assist me on what I might be doing wrong.
We are using 3 Kepware (KEPServerEX) servers connected to Azure IoT Operations (AIO) OPC UA Connector, which forwards data to Azure IoT Hub.Recently, we observed intermittent missing payloads/data gaps of approximately 4 minutes across all three Kepware servers simultaneously. During these periods, no telemetry was received in Azure.We raised a support case with Microsoft, and after analyzing the OPC UA Connector logs, they provided the following finding:Analysis of the OPC UA Connector logs shows that the payload gaps coincide with OPC UA BadTimeout publishing errors, i.e. periods where the OPC UA servers did not return a response to the connector's Publish requests within the operation timeout. During each of these periods no data-change or keep-alive notification is delivered, and therefore the per-minute keyframe for that period is not produced. Is it possible to connect KepWare to a device that uses TCP socket communication? So, basically to send a command to the device (IP/port) and receive a string response?The device is Tettex 2293Command I’d like to send is ‘*IDN?’\r\nExpected response is a model and a serial number in a string.
We are having problems with two Kepware implementations reading differently. Here are the specifics: We have one server that has KepServerEX 6. It reads one of our PLCs well; no problems. We also have a new server with Kepware Server 7. This implementation will not read from the exact same PLC. It’s showing Bad in the OPC quick client. Has anyone seen this before?
Hello,I have a customer with an older machine running KEPServerEX 5.0 who needs to transfer the software license to a new system.However, when attempting to use the license transfer process, an error occurs. We also noticed that the customer's Support & Maintenance expired around 2018. Even when trying to submit a support case, version 5.0 is not available as a selectable product, so we're unsure whether this is an expected limitation or a temporary issue.I have two questions:Q1. Does PTC still provide assistance for legacy products such as KEPServerEX 5.0, or is this likely just a temporary issue with the support portal?Q2. What is the recommended way to help the customer transfer the existing license? Is there still a process to transfer the license for an unsupported version? Or would the customer need to purchase Support & Maintenance again, or upgrade/purchase a new license? Any guidance or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.Thank you.
I have a OPC UA server (on a siemens comfort panel) that I want to read in some tags on my Kepware Server 7.1.271.0 server. I’ve set up an OPC UA channel and device, and I’m able to perform automatic tag generation tasks (I’m able to see the tags I have configured over there). The problem is that when I then try to read Kepware’s tags from this, the tag quality is bad. Maybe about once a minute I get a message in the log that the OPC UA Client driver is reconnecting due to connection loss- which sometimes, but not always corresponds to one momentary instance when the tag quality goes good and I’m able to read in the tags. The authentication is not using any security policy or message mode. I’m a bit flummoxed because I’m able to set up an Unified Automation OPC UA client that can read from the client just fine on the same machine as the Kepware server with the same settings. I did some debugging with Wireshark and saw that OPC traffic from that client to the panel was normal, while the
Despite the Runtime is still running, I don't seem to be able to use KEPServerEX Configuration to connect to that Runtime even though they are both on the same machine. By reviewing several articles, I'm convinced that there could be some hidden Config Client that is still holding on to that session, therefore I won't be able to connect to the Runtime Project. Should I restart the entire machine? or just the Runtime service? or both?

I Transferred a Perpetual License,License shows as ‘good’ in the license utility.License shows as ‘Active’ on the Kepware website.BUT KepserverEX is still showing a 2hr time limit, after which, it deactivates. License support expiry is 10/2019.I am uncertain what Kepserver version it was originally running on.Now running on Kepserver 6.18.318.0 QUESTIONS:Is this a Kepserver version issue? How do I see what version of kepserver my licenses need?Or has Kepware made it so you can't transfer older licenses without paying?

Hello, i’m facing an issue with KepserverEX6 not updating values according to specified scan rate (1000ms) from a Modicon M580 PLC. Modbus TCP/IP driver is set, i’m using 241 tags, i use only one channel and one device. Instead of 1s i see values update roughly 5-15 seconds. There are no other clients in Kepware communicating to the same device, only one OPC UA client reads/writes the same data from localhost (soft-PLC installed in the same server where Kepware is). The same soft-PLC in parallel reads/writes data in a different channel (Simulator Driver), and there everything is okay. So i don’t think issue is coming from the soft-PLC. When i use quick client on the Modbus TCP/IP channel i also see data updating slow.Network card is 1gbit. I am currently testing Kepware Server 7 to connect to an OPC Server via OPC DA.The OPC Server, in production, is currently has working OPC DA Client. I have configured the DCOM configuration for the Kepware Server.Set the Launch and Access Permission default and limits with the user that is also in the OPC Server as well as Access Permission. I can browse the tags but when OPC Quick Client (OQC) is connected to the Kepware, data is Bad and not updating. Using the Open Torque Tool Protocol driver, I am struggling connecting a Atlas Copco MT Focus 6000 (not Power Focus). According to the Kepware driver supported devices, this is a supported device. However, it has proven impossible to connect to the LTR tags and the 1201/1202 tags to get torque results. We have validated that the 'Communication' messages are successful and valid, and can validate data via diagnostics. However, the driver does not recognize the data format and sets most tag quality to 'Bad (Out of Service)' We have tried every message revision and MID8 / MID60. Is it truly possible to get torque result data from an MTF6000 using Kepware's Open Torque Tool Protocol driver?
hi all,I’m trying to setup a Modbus TCP/IP connection on a thingworx Kepware server 6.18, to an energy meter from Circutor (CVM-E3-MINI-ITF-WiEth, manual can be found here M170F01-03.pdf). I’ve setup connections to other energy meters before using Modbus TCP/IP without issues, but with this device I keep getting unrealistic values.I’ve literally tried using all different combinations on Data access & encoding, but the output I’m seeing seems either extremely high or extremely low, sometimes more or less stable but often also varying a lot which can normal if the byte order was swapped.The manual doesn’t really tell much on the Modbus-TCP setup, like what device-id I need to be using. So far I’ve tested mostly with device-ID 1 which seems most logical in that case, but I’ve used other device-id’s like 2 or 7.I’m hoping anyone has some experience with these types of devices or recognizes this type of behaviour and has some ideas on how to solve it.Many thanks in advance.H.

After addressing the certificate issue, WO downloads resumed successfully. However, in other environments, the Kepware REST server certificates were also expired, yet ThingWorx-to-Kepware communication and WO downloads continued to function normally.Initial investigation suggested that the difference may be related to the Java truststore (cacerts) contents on the ThingWorx servers. The original application owner is no longer with the company, and unfortunately, the installer for this exact version is not available in our internal software repository.I do not see a way to obtain this exact legacy installer from PTC, so I am evaluating whether it is safe to proceed using a newer KEPServerEX installer within the 6.x major version.Before moving forward, I would like to confirm a few things to minimize risk in a production environment: License Compatibility Is licensing for KEPServerEX 6.7 generally forward-compatible within newer 6.x releases (e.g., 6.14 or later)? Hi,I am using Kepware Server v7.0.236 with FTView v16 on Windows Server 2025 in a Domain setup. The Kepware Server is installed on the same server as the FTView application. I have a FTView Client PC (Windows 11 24H2) which runs the FTView client. The problem is when I run the FTView client on the W11 PC any tags on a graphic which directly address the Kepware server don’t read. I’ve gone through every step of the Kepware “Configuration Guide Remote OPC DA (DCOM)” and had a 2 hour Teams session with Kepware UK Tech support (MAC Solutions) while I’ve had remote desktop connection to the server. We went through the settings on both the Server and Client step by step and confirmed the recommended settings were in place and even uninstalled/reinstalled Kepware but nothing has worked.Anyone had similar issues and found solutions ?
