Question

Revolute a body between 2 edges!!

Hi,

I have partially constrained a body such that it could only rotate in Z-axis. Now, the body doesn't stop when it hits other body rather it passes through. How could i control this motion? The maximum angle it could possibly rotate is like 60° untill it hits the edge of other component, but it rotates complete 360°. Is it possible to prescribe motion between two edges?

Thanks a lot!!

Best,
Vish.

This is about Mechanism and you need a kind of interference check, to limit the movement when different parts collide, right?

You can use "rotation axis limits" on the pin (or cylinder) joint, and set the stopping surface as you wish.

Another option - much less desired - would be to use Cam with liftoff option between the two surfaces that should not interfere.
