symmetrical movement of two parts

Dear All

I'm looking for a method to make two parts move symmetrically . I know it's possible to do it in SOLIDWORKS but I don't find the way to do it with CREO.

Hi,

you can define relation on assembly level. I attached Creo 7 example.

There are at least three ways to solve your problem.

Define relations as MartinHanak wrote

Define component placement as constraints (see the attached picture)

Define component placement as connections, Then create two servo-motors in mechanism and run them together

You waited 10 months to respond and in the interim the person who responded to you has retired.

The idea suggested by ​@Van_AG  is a nice simple method:

  1. Assemble the arm on one of the sides of your assembly, at an angle to the “top” face of the main block.
  2. Define a plane that goes thru the axis through the hole at the outer end of the arm, parallel to the “top” face.
  3. Assemble the second arm on the other side. Coincident rotation hole/shaft, but this time you have to make the axis at the center of the outer hole be coincident with the plane created in step 2

Now when you change the angle of the arm assembled first, it should also affect the other arm that is constrained to have its end hole coplanar with the first arm.

This method is based upon the assumption that both arms are the same length, etc.
