CUT feature using "Merge\Inheritance" fails!!

I have 2 parts in an assembly. But these both parts are intersected\interfered with each other.

So I am using "Merge\Inheritance" feature to remove the interfered volume. But this particular operation fails, maybe because the part is getting interfered with assembly feature. Is there any other way to approach this problem?

Copy the interfering surfaces of one part to another using CoyGeometry and then cut out that surface area using solidify.
